[NEWS] 111216 U-Kiss awarded 'Best Male Idol Group' at 19th Annual Korean Cultural Entertainment Award Ceremony

At the 19th annual Korean Cultural Entertainment Award ceremony, U-Kiss won the award for the best male idol group. The award show was held on Dec. 15 at 63 City Convention Center in Yeouido, Seoul. Around 70 entertainers were given prizes. The winners were decided by online votes as well as by consulting experts within the entertainment industry.

Notable award winners for the night included actor So Ji-sub winning the grand award within the acting category. The award for the best newcomer went to girl band Blady which made its debut in July.

Through its agency, U-Kiss said, "Thank you so much for the award. We will work harder and strive to become even greater". The show will air on Dec. 18 on the cable channel KBSN.

The Korean boy band is also rising to much fame in Japan as their debut single reached the third place on the Japanese music chart on the day of its release.

On Dec. 14 the band launched the song "Tick Tack" and greeted fans at Tower Records Tower in Tokyo. U-Kiss will continue their Japanese promotions until the release of their second single and first album in February.

The other members reveal ___’s surprising true self!?

I’d like to ask you about your personal details first. Could you all introduce yourselves, please?

AJ: The leader is U-Kiss’ power vocal, Soohyun. He’s the oldest and he’s very dependable, always looking after his “little brothers”.
ELI: AJ is in charge of rap and he’s very serious. He’s a perfectionist who will try his hardest and really concentrate on something if he’s into it.
KEVIN: Eli’s looks and his personality are very manly and frank . He’s in charge of rap.
DONGHO: As you can tell by looking, (Kevin) he’s very pretty, but one stage he’s very cool. He has two different sides. He’s a vocalist so he’s a great singer, and as far as his personality goes, I think he’s the purest one in the group.
KISEOP: Dongho is a rapper, and he is like a puppy, maybe because he’s the youngest. (laughter) He’s cute and he’s got a cheerful personality.
HOON: Kiseop is a vocalist and his face and body are perfect! His heart is also warm, and he talks to his mother and father every single day.
SOOHYUN: Hoon is cool, and on top of that he’s nicer than anyone else, and really pure. He’s a vocalist.

[NEWS] 111215 U-Kiss places 3rd on the Oricon Daily Single Chart

U-Kiss placed 3rd on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart with the release of their album.

The boys released their first single in Japan, ‘Tick Tack‘, selling 17,207 albums on the first day.

U-Kiss’ agency, NH Media, revealed, “On the first day of the release, hundreds of fans gathered at the opening sales event at Tokyo Shibuya Tower Records. We are planning promotional events throughout Japan until the end of the year. We are expecting that the pre-orders for their other debut singles will gain momentum.”

U-Kiss will be releasing their 2nd Japanese single next February, and embark on a Japan tour in March with the 45,000 seats already sold out.

[NEWS] 111214 U-Kiss' joys, tears & sweat all revealed in "My Story"

MBN Star Documentary 'My Story' is a program boldly captures the behind-the-scene sides of stars and relays it back to you.

The third protagonist is idol group, U-Kiss. From the 19th, new light will be shed on U-Kiss' past, present and future.

Soohyun, Kiseop, Eli, Kevin, Dongho, Hoon and AJ are the members make up the group U-Kiss. U-Kiss debuted in 2008 with the mini-album 'N-Generation'. The highlight of the group was the multi-national members that allowed them to head towards the 'international stage'.
Earlier this year, Alexander and Kibum had departed from the group, which hindered the group greatly. However, AJ and Hoon were added into the group and now they are steadily gaining popularity again.

After the member change, U-Kiss displays a more 'mature' image in 'My Story' and discloses their plans to the audience.
They will be embarking on their nation-wide tour in Japan during March 2012, in addition to various releases. They have already gained notable fan support from South-East Asia and based o this, the program will introduce their strategies and plans of advancing to Japan.
U-Kiss' first live of their debut single, 'Tick Tack', will also be shown during 'My Story'.
The members' lives will be shown in detail. Viewers will be able to see the details behind Kevin's birthday party and Eli's lonely work life as his family resides overseas. In addition, the members' hard-sweating gym routines will be revealed.

In the past, 'My Story' has featured actors which have drawn in an audience of older generation. U-Kiss' feature is expected to raise the popularity of the show with the younger generation.

[NEWS] 111214 U-Kiss to release 2nd Japanese single in February

U-Kiss officially made their debut with their Japanese single "Tick Tack" on December 14th, which received positive feedback from fans after the music video was officially released a few weeks ago. According to their Japanese website, U-Kiss will be continuing their Japanese activities and is set to release their 2nd Japanese single in February 2012.

The untitled single will be available to fans in 3 different editions on February 15.

Meanwhile, U-Kiss will also be preparing for their 1st Japan Tour titled "U-KISS 1st JAPAN TOUR 2012" in March after attending the end-of-the-year Korean music festivals.

U-Kiss is signed under Avex Entertainment, who will be managing their Japanese activities.
