First Japanese album of U-KISS ranks 2nd on the Oricon chart
U-Kiss, one of the most popular K-pop acts in the Philippines, recently released their first Japanese album appropriately entitled "First Kiss."
Filipino U-kissMes, as the group's fans are known, will be glad to know that their idols' album placed second on the Oricon chart on the first day of its release. U-Kiss also staged a successful sold-out Japanese concert on the same day at ZEPP Tokyo. U-Kiss reportedly sold a total of 5,000 seats. This is very impressive for a group that has only previously released albums with Korean songs.
Filipino K-pop fans will not be surprised of their idols' overseas success since the group has been regularly coming to the Philippines for shows. U-Kiss - composed of Kevin, Dongho, SooHyun, KiBum, Eli, Kiseop, and Alexander - has visited the Philippines three times. Their first visit was for their debut album release; a full-length solo concert and a special guest appearance in Rain's Intensity show last September soon followed.
Upon their return to their native Korea, the members of U-Kiss will have more activities, including appearances in year-end ceremonies. Dongho and Kiseop are scheduled to appear in MBC's "Real School," while Kevin is cast in an upcoming musical entitled "On Air Live." Wouldn't it be good if U-Kiss were to visit the Philippines again in 2011?
